Navigating the Preclinical Development of Novel Candidate Adjuvanted Vaccines Towards Successful First-in-Human Clinical Trials
9 June 2026 – The seminar, “Navigating the Preclinical Development of Novel Candidate Adjuvanted Vaccines Towards Successful First-in-Human Clinical Trials”, concluded successfully after two days of insightful discussions, knowledge sharing, and scientific exchange. Organised by the National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM) in collaboration with Pusat Kanser Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Universiti Sains Malaysia (PKTAAB-USM), the seminar brought together 144 participants and distinguished speakers from Malaysia and around the world.
Day 2 featured distinguished speakers, including Dr. Tarun Saluja (International Vaccine Institute, Korea), Dr. Faisalina Ahmad Fisol (National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia), Dr. Sang Yeon Oh (International Vaccine Institute, Korea), Dr. Nicolas Gaudenzio (Genoskin, USA), Dr. Mohd Anuar Jonet (National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia), and Dr. Masita Arip (National Institutes of Health Malaysia), who shared their expertise on key preclinical and clinical scientific, regulatory requirement and manufacturing considerations in advancing candidate vaccines from preclinical development towards first-in-human clinical trials.
The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Madya Dr. Tye Gee Jun, Director of NIBM-IPharm, and Prof. Madya Dr. Bakiah Shaharuddin, Director of PKTAAB-USM, who emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships in strengthening Malaysia’s vaccine research and development ecosystem.
