Vaccine Collaboration Network (VCN) Committee Meeting

30 March 2026 – The National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM) successfully convened the Vaccine Collaboration Network (VCN) Committee Meeting No. 1/2026 at NIBM-MGVI, bringing together key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and advance vaccine development efforts in Malaysia.

The session commenced with an opening address by Datuk Dr. Nor Fariza Ngah, Deputy Director-General of Health (Research and Technical Support), Ministry of Health (MOH), who also chaired the meeting. This was followed by a presentation on the Proposed Framework for Human Vaccine Commercialisation (KKVM), aimed at strengthening the development and commercialisation of locally produced vaccines in support of Malaysia’s vaccine ecosystem.

The Chief Executive Officer, YBhg. Prof. Datuk Wira Dr. Raha Abdul Rahim, FASc., also delivered a presentation on the progress of human vaccine pilot scale GMP facilities, ASBL-3 facility as well as Latihan Program Vaksin (LPV). The programme concluded with a question and answer session, followed by a visit to the GMP laboratory, supporting the growth of Malaysia’s local vaccine capabilities.
