GUIDELINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND PRESENTATION

Dear Participants,

We are delighted to have you join us as a presenter at the National Biotechnology Symposium (NBS) 2024. Please adhere to the directions provided below in order to ensure a seamless execution of your presentation.

1. REGISTRATION

  • Please note that your abstract’s inclusion in the final programme is dependent upon your completion of the registration process.
  • If you have not yet registered for the NBS2024, please click on the provided link to do so. 

2. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

  • Each participant is allowed to submit only one abstract. Please click on the provided link to get the abstract template.
  • Your abstract will be evaluated by reviewer panels after the submission. Participants are required to revise the abstract according to the panel’s feedback and do resubmission if requested.
  • Please note that the allocation of accepted Oral presentations is limited and it will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis, taking into account the panel’s recommendations. Abstracts that are not approved for the oral presentation by the panel will be considered for a poster presentation upon revision.
  • Participants will get an email confirming the acceptance of their abstracts within a timeframe of two to four weeks after the abstract submission deadline.
  • After the acceptance, participants will get an additional email from the Scientific Committee of NBS2024 with proofread abstracts and abstract codes. Participants are required to acknowledge the proofread and make any necessary changes, if applicable.

3. ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATION

Participants are required to prepare the presentation according to the criteria provided: –

4. PRESENTATION AWARD

  • The Best Oral and Poster Presentation Award is an esteemed recognition given to the researcher with outstanding presentations.
  • The awards are open to all registered participants of NBS2024.
  • The winners of the awards will be announced during the closing ceremony. A certificate, and monetary prize will be given to the Best Oral/Poster Award Winner,1st Runner up and 2nd Runner up for overall category.
  • The oral presentation/posters will be evaluated during the oral presentation and poster session.
  • Judgers will review the oral presentation and posters based on the following criteria: –

(a) The Best Oral Presentation Award

  • Content clarity and Structure: Clear and concise introduction, body, and conclusion with well-defined objectives and scope of the presentation.
  • Engagement and Delivery: Confident and enthusiastic delivery. Effective use of vocal variety and tone. Appropriate gestures, facial expressions, and body language.
  • Visual Aids and Slides: Relevant and visually appealing slides. Limited text, emphasising key points. High-quality images, graphs, and diagrams. Comprehensive coverage of the topic.
  • Time Management: Staying within the allocated time limit with an efficient distribution of time among introduction, content, and conclusion.
  • Communication Skills: Effective use of language, including proper grammar and vocabulary. Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

(b) The Best Poster Presentation Award

  • Content and Originality: The poster should present innovative ideas, novel research findings, or creative approaches based on the theme of the symposium.
  • Visual Impact: The overall design, layout, and visual appeal of the poster.
  • Scientific/Practical Value: The potential impact and significance of the presented work in the relevant field.
